Wild Mustangs

http://blog.swtrekking.com/?p=5660

While biking on the Los Burros trail in the Tonto National Forest this weekend, I came across a herd of wild horses!  There were six, and they were beautiful animals!  I got off my bike and approached them slowly.  This stallion also approached me slowly and eventually allowed me to pet him.  Then he decided to check-out my bike and backpack.  I guess I had his approval to continue on by.

The Salt River wild horses are a historic herd of wild horses, the last remnants of the vast herds of wild horses that once roamed our planes, but unlike the bison, we still have a chance to preserve them for generations to come.  The word Mustang or Wild Horse is used interchangeably.
