Cane Cholla Bloom

Sunday, May 28th, 2017

The Cane Cholla is also known as the Walkingstick Cactus and this one is in full bloom with beautiful bright magenta flowers. These spectacular looking cacti also produce red, yellow, orange, brown and yellow-green colored blooms.

Following their blooms are a bright yellow, nearly spineless edible fruit but don’t think you’ll be able to harvest that without some risk. These native cacti are a protected species of the Sonoran Desert, for viewing pleasure only please.

Come visit Tucson, AZ to see for yourself just how interestingly beautiful these really are and let us help create the best experience for you with a guided nature hike or biking tour

This waxy oil is gold in color, mild oder, naturally present with antibacterial, antifungal, and antioxidants, giving it high medicinal properties.
