Ridgeline Fun

Thursday, December 31st, 2015

Charlie absolutely killed it on his guided bike ride out to Ridgeline and on flat pedals even when he’s used to clip-ins. He’s on the ridge almost to the top here. This climb is steep and long followed by beautiful views and a fun downhill. Only those with great endurance and skill can do this ride. Awesome job, Charlie!

White Christmas in Tucson?

Thursday, December 24th, 2015

Who says you can’t have a white Christmas in Tucson? Just drive up our Santa Catalina Mountains. Its most popular peak being Mt. Lemmon. There are sledding spots and you can even hike or bike up there in the snow! Also it’s gorgeous!

My phone camera isn’t the greatest but this was quite a sight to see a beautiful hawk enjoying the view on top of an old saguaro. Happy Holidays!

Spotted this Gila Monster on the trail at Fantasy Island in late October.  Gila Monsters burrow underground and live off the fat stored in their tails during the winter months.  Although a venomous lizard,  bites to humans are rare and seldom fatal.  This one seemed to enjoy posing for pictures!!

Gettin’ some on Bug Springs

At the halfway point!

Stopping for a quick break at the halfway point on Bug Springs a few weeks ago.  Now’s the best time of year to ride the lower half of Mt Lemmon’s trails like Bugs!  Check out those blue skies…
