Our deer family is at it again on the morning hike showing off to our first time Sonoran desert visitors/hikers. They love to come out during the sunrise.

We have a deer family that likes to show off to the hikers in the morning. The last 4 hikes there have been 10 or more but this morning just 3 with a mom and two curious young ones that followed us with in 20-30 feet for a while. What a cool experience for these folks new to the Sonoran Desert!


The “Scary” Tarantula

Southwest Trekking guide, Matthew, seems to have something on his chest. Tarantulas are friendly and harmless unless threatened. This little lady was actually kind of playful. These cool spiders play an important part in the Sonoran desert ecosystem.




Twin Saguaros!

These twin saguaros are just part of the spectacular scenery along the Quilter Trail!  It’s part of the AZ Trail between Hope Camp and Manning Camp in Saguaro National Park east.  We biked in, stashed the bikes, and hiked into the park.  Beautiful!
