Morning Hike

Wednesday, June 26th, 2013

Today the temperature was in the high seventies at 6am, the perfect time of day for hiking. The wildlife is always active during this time of day. We see families of mule deer or packs of Javelina, today I spotted a single coyote traveling along a large arroyo. The early sun made his coat noticeably shiny and was moving quickly in search of a morning meal, very nice way to start the day.

Bowen Homestead

Went on a great hike that starts at the J.W. Marriott Starr Pass. It’s a 3 mile round-trip hike that takes you to a cool stone structure built in the 1920’s. Once inside you are surrounded by windows allowing you to take in the same views as the homesteaders that built it. High walls also provide shade which is always nice.
